Solar Cooking with the Olympus Flower Parabolic Solar Cooker obtains easy results with minimum supervision. Temperatures of 200 degrees Celcius (390 degrees F) are reached.
All our cooking is done in dark cast-iron pots which definitely work best due to their heat retention and non-stick properties. .
Maintaining Maximum Cook Time
By centering the sun spot on your shadow indicator, the cooker will focus its sun rays on the pot for 20 minutes.
By predicting the path of the sun and advancing the reflector to the West, you can focus the sun rays longer on the pot and prolong the cooking time for up to one hour.

Rice (30 to 40 min)
Put water and rice into a pot and put on its’ lid. Place pot into solar cooker to boil. When the water is boiling, un-focus the cooker and stir. Replace the lid and re-focus your cooker. Stir occasionally, un-focusing the cooker each time until food is cooked.
Off the Grid Solar Cooker
Pasta (30 min)
Put water into a pot and put on its’ lid. Place pot into solar cooker to boil. When the water is boiling, un-focus the cooker and add pasta. Replace the lid and re-focus your cooker.
Stir occasionally, un-focusing the cooker each time until food is cooked.
Cooking with Solar
Porridge (20 min)
Put water into a pot and put on its’ lid. Place pot into solar cooker to boil. When the water is boiling, un-focus the cooker, and stir in dry. Replace the lid and re-focus your cooker. Stir occasionally, un-focusing the cooker each time until food is cooked.

Soups and Stews (45 to 60 min)
Cover the base of the pot with oil, add ingredients and put on the lid. Place the pot into the solar cooker and braise.
When food is braised, un-focus your cooker, add further ingredients. Replace the lid and re-focus your cooker.

Re-adjust the focus as required. Fried Foods (20 min). Cover the bottom of your pot with oil, add your ingredients,
Place the pot into the solar cooker to fry. Turn your ingredients every 10 to 15 minutes, un-focusing the cooker.
Free Energy Cooking with solar
Pancakes (10 min)
Line the base of the pot with oil and put on it’s lid. Place pot into the solar cooker to heat up. When hot enough, un-focus the cooker and pour in the pancake mixture. Replace the lid, re-focus and fry. Check occasionally, un-focusing the cooker each time. When one side is done, flip the pancake. Replace the lid, re-focus and cook the other side.
Baking with your Solar Cooker
Baking (45 to 60 min)
Line the inside of a pot with oil, put in the baking mixture and put on the lid. Place pot into solar cooker to bake.
Unfocus your cooker and rotate the pot a quarter turn. Don’t open your pot too soon or else your cake or bread might flop!
Pizza with your Solar Cooker
Pizza (30 to 40 min)
Line the base of the pot with oil, put in the pizza base and put on the lid. Place pot into solar cooker to bake.
Check occasionally, un-focusing the cooker each time. When the base is ready un-focus the cooker, flip your base over and add your pizza toppings.
Replace the lid, re-focus and let your pizza cook.
Puddings with your Solar Cooker
Puddings (30 to 40 min)
When making puddings or cooking heat-sensitive ingredients such as milk, you can heat them by using a water bath. Add water to the pot, place a dish inside with ingredients and replace lid. Your puddings will get heated safely and cannot burn..

Making Jam with your Solar Cooker
Making Jam (60 min)
Fruit can be bottled or made into jam. Place ingredients into a pot and put on its’ lid.
Place pot into solar cooker to cook. Stir occasionally, un-focusing the cooker each time until fruit is cooked.
Cool, pour into jars and seal.
